Last weekend was a busy one at Cooby with good numbers being caught. Quite a few people fishing around the school boat ramp and out in deeper water in the centre of the northern leg with catches in various depth and areas. Lindon Mitchell landed two cracking yellowbelly (55cm and 52cm) fishing from the bank using saltwater yabbies around the pontoon. Blades and Spinnerbaits taking some but saltwater yabbies and shrimp are doing best.
Bait fishing at the back end of the dam is delivering the best at the moment.
Some good fish caught at Cressbrook again this week .Rigged lures with a beetle spin blade catching some fish. The main area out from the boat ramp is producing some fish. Cast Jackall TN60 and plastics around the shallows in the late afternoon for bass. Try at the point across from the rock wall in the Cressbrook Creek leg of the dam, also points and drop-offs with blades and shrimp. Redclaw appear a little slower this week.
Pelican point and Queen Street is producing some good bass on blades and plastics and the timbered area at Kirkleagh for bass and yellowbelly. Jackall Mask Vibes, plastics and blades have been working ok. Redclaw a little slow.
Lure of the week:
Damiki Z Glider Ice Jig is a shad style jig, in 42mm and 35mm in length, and two weights at 10gm and 7gm. Six colours available. Good for Bass, and other species when they are schooling in deeper water.
