Cooby: There is some encouraging reports of some good catches at this week .Catches have been scattered around the dam. Some of the deeper holes in the northern leg of the dam producing some good fish in about four to six meters of water. Bank fishing the pontoon area is also producing some good fish. Blades and small profile lures taking some fish. Saltwater yabbies and shrimp are the bait of choice.
Leslie Dam: About the same at Leslie this week. A few fish have been caught using Vibes and spinnerbaits .Some fish caught at the rocky area near the dam wall but the back end of the dam seems to be the area that most fish have been caught . Bait fishing with shrimp and saltwater yabbies are producing some fish.
Cressbrook: Not a lot has changed at Cressbrook this week. Reports of some fair size bass caught trolling out from the boat ramp with Smak Blitz Baga and Predatek Boomerang 80 lures. Using Ice Jigs and blades around the buoy line producing some fish . Eight to ten meters of water seem to be where the fish are sitting. Try fishing any points and drop-offs with blades and shrimp. Some good numbers of redclaw being caught in deeper water.
Cabarlah fishing club winners from July trip to Bjelke Peterson Dam were - Terry Gleeson for heaviest yellowbelly at six and a half pound. Tom Cowling for heaviest silver perch at one and a half pound. Col Jones for heaviest Jew at two pounds. Bryce Jones for heaviest bass at five pounds.
