Cooby Dam: Good for yellowbelly in most areas of the dam at about ten to fifteen feet of water. Lure fishing with hard bodied and blades has been working ok. Troll your lures around and over the weed beds in the back end of the northern leg. Fishing the pontoon area and closer to the rock face in the late afternoon is also yielding fish. Saltwater yabbies and shrimp the baits of choice.

Cressbrook: Tough fishing at Cressbrook with only a few reports of good fish having been caught. Using blades and shrimp around the back of Deer Island and the eastern side of the main basin out from the boat ramp in eight meters of water has been working. Eagles nest area of the dam has produced some small bass on spinner baits. Saltwater yabbies and shrimp are working ok. Leaving pots in is producing some redclaw but still a little slow overall.

Somerset: Some good bass on blades and ice jigs around Queen Street and Pelican point in about six to ten meters of water. The timbered area at Kirkleagh for bass and yellowbelly using shrimp and blades. Redclaw a little slow.

Bjelke-Petersen Dam: Some good yellowbelly and bass coming out of BP this week. Bass point and the timbered area at the back end of the dam producing some good fish. Spinner baits and small hard bodied lures are working ok. Shrimp and Saltwater yabbies working ok.

Lure of The Week: Berkley 3B Puppy Dog Is a small profile floating medium diving lure. 45mm in length and dives to about 1.2 meters. Good tight action and loud rattle. Good for bream, flatties, bass, and yellowbelly.

My grandchildren love camping, fishing and kayaking. We encourage kids give it a go and we stock a good range suitable for all ages. Check out a picture in store of a ripper 5kg/11lb yellowbelly caught last week at Bjelke-Petersen Dam on shrimp by a proud young angler, so big we're told it nearly pulled him out of the boat!

Send in photos of your catch and we will put on our wall or in our local newspaper fishing report. Don't forget to Like us on Facebook.
